Coverage, made simple
Coverage is always 3 m² per litre, per coat. A finished wall takes a basecoat and two to three coats, so you plan by finished wall area, not by the kit. As a guide, a 15 m² feature wall needs about two kits, of either finish. The finish you choose is a technique, not a different product, so the same plaster can be smooth, textured or burnished.
How much wall does one kit cover?
One 5 L kit covers about 7 to 8 m² of finished wall in the standard finish. Coverage works out at 3 m² per litre, per coat.
Why is coverage shown per coat?
Because a finished wall takes more than one coat. Multiply the per-coat figure by your number of coats to get the true area, so always plan by finished wall area, not by the size of the kit.
How many coats do I need?
A basecoat plus two coats gives full depth. Two coats will do, three is ideal. Heavier or more textured designs need more.
My wall is bigger than one kit. What then?
Simply add another kit. For a whole house, or several houses, ask about our trade pack and we will quote the full material for the project.
Does the finish change how much I need?
The coverage rate never changes, it is always 3 m² per litre per coat. Some finishes or designs simply need more coats, which means more material for the same wall.
Can I use it outside or in bathrooms?
Both finishes are made for interior walls. For a specific area or project, request a quote and we will advise on what suits.
What surfaces can it go on?
Sound, dry, primed interior surfaces such as plasterboard, brick, cement and lime. We prime absorbent walls first for a lasting bond.
Can I get a custom colour?
Yes. MABClay DanaLux comes in twelve earthy tones, with bespoke tinting available on request.
Do you supply or apply?
Both. Order a kit and apply it yourself or with your contractor, or we apply it for you across Zimbabwe.
